Company History

Founded in 2018, Mosaic Sensors Corporation is a Canadian company focused on the commercialization of sensing technology platform developed in the Serpe group at the University of Alberta. The company designs and manufactures robust, effective, and reliable test kits for rapid health and safety monitoring at the point of care.

  • 2020

    Mosaic Sensors partnered with Eli Science Inc. ( to develop a biosensor component of the point-of-care device that uses a saliva sample to provide women with their daily hormone profile. We welcomed our second employee, Dr. Yingnan Zhang.

  • 2019

    Mosaic Sensors partnered with Keystone Labs Inc. ( to develop rapid and efficient point-of-care tools for cannabis testing.

  • 2018

    Mosaic Sensors spun off from the Serpe group (University of Alberta) to commercialize polymeric gel-based sensors as point-of-care safety and health diagnostic tools. We welcomed our first employee, Dr. Siyuan Guo.

  • 2018

    The Serpe research group at the University of Alberta developed polymeric gels as a basis for a simple, practical, and multifunctional detection platform.
